Mission Champions trophy begins,after beating England 3-0


 India convincingly won the series against England in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, securing a clean sweep. And now India's eyes is on Champions trophy formerly called the ICC Knockout Trophy, tournament will kick off on 19 February and will be held in Pakistan, although India's group-stage games, a semi-final and the final (if India qualifies) will take place in Dubai. 


The 3-0 scoreline highlighted India’s dominance, Before the series began, there were volcano of questions-- Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma could rediscover their form and mojo, what might be the best combination for Champions trophy?,Jasprit Bumrah will get fit before Champions trophy?, and who will be the Indias wiket keeper.Many of those questions were answered, though a few still linger. 


Obviously, there are certain things we are looking at (to improve), and I am not going to stand here and explain those,” said Rohit during the post-match presentation ceremony. This shows that Rohit know there are things that Indian team needs to fix before Champions begins.


Power play with the new ball

Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament. Bumrah is yet to completely recover from the discomfort in his back, an injury he picked up during the Sydney Test in January, he was the key to take wikets in Power play. Against England Indian players performance with the new ball was below par. Shami was not looking in his full rhythm and Harshit Rana leaked runs as the inexperience was evident. 


Big pillars of India 

fifty from Kohli in previous game and century from Rohit in 2nd ODI give some beliefs that they are back to there mojo. but by their own high standards, it was another mediocre series for both.


Rahul Ahead of Pant  

There was much debate over who would don the gloves in the series. “At the moment, KL is our No. 1 wicketkeeper, and he has delivered for us,” Gambhir told reporters in Ahmedabad. and Rahul played 3 games. Meanwhile Pant was left without an opportunity, Almost everyone in the squad got a chance except Pant. It is clear that Rahul would retain the role in the Champions Trophy as well.
